Trinity opened the scoring in the 13th minute as they worked it through the hands to Cam Scott, who was waiting in the corner to dive over.

The Details

Giants were only behind for 11 minutes before Sam Halsall got his side on level terms with a neat finish in the corner, but Lachlan Walmsley helped Wakefield re-establish their four-point advantage seven minutes before the break. Trinity kicked off to turn the screw after the interval, Walmsley running over in easy fashion for his second of the afternoon with 55 minutes on the clock.

The visitors stretched their lead to 14 points in the 63rd minute, Seth Nikotemo bursting over the Giants line for a try - converted - shortly after Oliver Pratt had stopped Jacob Gagai from scoring at the other end. Huddersfield cut the deficit to eight points five minutes later when Flanagan charged onto the ball and slid over, then added the conversion.

Why This Matters

They then closed the gap to two points shortly after when Flanagan dotted down for his second, and again converted, but Wakefield held on to condemn Huddersfield to their second straight defeat.
