White House Snitches 🚨

So, the White House just launched a tracker to keep tabs on ‘media offenders’ (yes, really) and I’m dead 💀. They really said ‘hold my coffee’ and went ahead with this, and honestly, it’s giving me main character energy.

The tracker is supposed to keep track of all the times the media ‘misbehaves’ (their words, not mine), and I’m not sure if this is a power move or a cry for help. Like, are they trying to distract us from something?

(I’m looking at you, rent-free inhabitants of the White House).

Apparently, the tracker will be updated regularly, and it’ll include all sorts of ‘offenses’, from ‘fake news’ to ‘bias’ (sus much? ). And let’s be real, this is lowkey a whole thing, and I’m not okay.

I mean, who needs fact-checking when you can just call out the media for being ‘mean’?

Why This Matters (Or Doesn’t) 👀

So, why is this a thing? Is the White House trying to gaslight us into thinking the media is the real enemy? Or are they just trying to stir up some drama?

(I mean, it’s working, because here I am, writing about it). The people who actually know things are saying this is a classic case of ‘projection’ (aka, they’re doing what they’re accusing others of doing).

But, like, what’s the point of all this? Are they trying to intimidate the media into being more… compliant?

Newsflash: that’s not how journalism works, and it’s giving me delulu vibes. The media’s job is to hold those in power accountable, not to be their PR team.
